The 3rd Learning Teaching and Training Activity took place in Tyrnävä, Finland, on March 11th-15th 2024. Main aim of the meeting was to train teachers in 3D Scanning process. The meeting started with an introduction to 3D Scanning (Steps of 3D Scanning) – and an introduction to Creality Scanner, by Athanasia Kadrefi, Researcher, member of Quantitative Methods Laboratory, from University of the Aegean. Then prof. Mavri, Project Coordinator, from University of the Aegean made a detailed presentation about types and methods of 3D Scanning and gave some useful tips for successful 3D Scanning. Finally, Leonidas Maniatis, Researcher member of QMLab, from University of the Aegean, proceeded with an introduction to MeshMixer. He described MeshMixer as a program for basic 3D designing, that is particularly useful:
- For the creation and alteration of single objects.
- For the solidification of 3D shapes.
- For using 3D sculpting techniques on a 3D shape.
- For being a relatively easy-to-learn 3D designing program.
- He made a comparison between MeshMixer and Blender
On the second day of the meeting, prof. Maria Mavri and the members of QMlab, Dr Fronimaki Evgenia, and Athanasia Kadrefi and Veronica Giannetti, Project Manager of ISA13 made a laboratory for 3D Scanning (Handheld 3d scanning) and Scanning activities indoors at Kirkkomännikön koulu.
At the end of the 3rd LTTA the members of QmLab, Dr Fronimaki Evgenia, Leonidas Maniatis, Athanasia Kadrefi and Maya Fafaliou, continued with a 3D Scanning (Handheld 3d scanning) laboratory indoors because the Scanning activities outdoors were not performed as it was snowing outside.
